"In the Zone Delivery Diet" - what is all the hype?

Let's first take a look at what the Zone Diet is all about:

* The Zone Delivery Diet was created by Dr Barry Sears, an expert on the control of hormone response in the body, using dietary measures.
* Dr Barry Sears has written quite a few books about the Zone Delivery diet, some of his books include: The Zone - published in 1995. Mastering the Zone - published in 1997. Zone perfect meals in minutes - published in 1997. He has written four more books since 1997.
* The Zone diet focuses on meals consisting of 40% Carbohydrates, 30% Protein and 30% Fat. Carbohydrates are the main source of energy in any meal. Carbohydrates include (but are not limited to) foods like: potatoes, rice, bread, pasta and certain fruits. You get carbohydrates that have a low, medium and high GI (glycemic index). The best carbs are those with a low GI, this gives you sustained energy throughout the day. Some examples of low GI foods include: wholegrain bread, Durum wheat pasta, oats, strawberries, grapes, apricots. It is thus a good idea to make sure that the Carbohydrates that you do eat, has a low GI.

* What makes the Zone Delivery Diet so unique is that you can eat all the foods you love as long as it adheres to the 40/30/30 percentage rule. The Zone Delivery Diet ensures a hormonal balance, which in turn ensures stable insulin levels. This helps combat illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and other chronic illnesses.
* The Zone Delivery Diet can easily be customized to be vegetarian friendly. Dr Sears has published a book called the Soy Zone, especially for vegetarians.

There are quite a few "Zone Delivery Diet", home delivery companies available. They will deliver meals (made to Zone Diet specifications) to your door. There are a few options available as to the frequency of deliveries. Some will deliver meals once a week; you will thus get enough meals to last you for a week. Others will deliver once a day. They have unique packaging for these meals; they are packed in insulated containers which are in most instances microwave safe. You can expect to pay anything between $37 and $60 (US$) per day for these meals.

The Zone Delivery Diet is followed by quite a few celebrities. Some of these celebrities include: Debbie Travis (actress), Jenna Spilde (model), Bitty Schram (actress), Maria Del Mar (actress), Scott Valentine (actor) and lots more.
