WoW Enchanting Guide

To begin with just a quick explanation of what WoW enchanting is and how to use it.

Enchanting is a primary profession and any character class can learn to enchant.If you have chosen the Blood elves you will have a slight increased enchanting ability or plus with there passive racial skill but if you do not play them do not stress to much about this.

Enchanting does not need gathering so that is a bonus and it goes well with tailoring.

As an enchanter you will or can place enchants on many different items such as armour or weapons to make them more powerful and other WoW players will want these enchanted weapons.


Other World Of Warcraft players might be looking for a particular enchanted item so you can sell these to them.

The lower level enchants will be a bit harder to sell as not everyone requires these but in the higher levels those enchanted items will sell quite well so don't give up.

It is not the easiest of professions to learn and can be a bit boring and costly I find, but it is still very popular.

Enchanting summed up, begin by performing a disenchant on different items and when you perform this you actually break the item down into its core elements that you might want to level up.

So you might well be destroying items by disenchanting them to gain new components to use for your enchants, so don't sell the expensive items you need to disenchant in the AH.

Just check you are disenchanting the correct items as it cannot be undone. You can source the items you need to disenchant from the AH or from other players or various other sources.

You can also get further enchanting recipes. These are called formulae and can be sourced from certain trainers that are hidden or maybe dropped from monsters.

If you disenchant armour you acquire- mostly dust (varies on the level),maybe some essence and very seldom, a shard.

Disenchanting weapons will give you mainly essences.

Blue Items you acquire, Sometimes Green as Well - A shard.

Nexus crystals and void crystals is what you can acquire if you disenchant a purple item.
