I have felt for a long time that you need to spend quality quiet time visualizing the success you want in life. For example when I was younger, I faithfully prescribed to a weight-training regimen. After a certain amount of time, I would decide on a day of the week where I would max out a particular exercise. I can remember sleeping and dreaming about how the, weight would look at the bar. The sound it would make as I placed each successive 45lb weight against each other. The surroundings of the people working out in the room, the lights, smell of the sweat around me, the grunts I would emit as the barbell came down, and the difficulty I might have along the way pushing the bar back up. I would think abut the facial expression and tweaks required to achieve this goal. I knew I would find a way to reach and then exceed the weight amount I had in mind during my dreams.
When the day came to max out, everything would play out as I had dreamed and the exercise itself was actually easier than it was in my dreams. I believe it was because I was so in tuned to what I wanted done that I had developed the muscle memory required to meet my goal. It was much later in life that I came across the book, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. He talks at length about the power and success one achieves when they spend time thinking about what it is he wants in life. I continue to use these methods today in my new career as a network marketer and can visualize the success that is in my future.
To your success!
