When is a Terrorist a Terrorist?

There is a lot of controversy on the Barack Obama/William Ayers association and there needs to be clarification of this matter. We hear that Mr. Ayers was/is a terrorist; what does that mean?

Webster's New College Dictionary defines the word terrorist as an individual that uses violence, terror, and intimidation to achieve an end. Terror - something as a terrifying event that instills intense fear. Violence - physical force employed so as to violate, damage or abuse, an act of violent behavior or action. Intimidation - to make timid: frighten.

How does this apply to William Ayers? Well, in 1969 he co-founded the radical left organization, the Weather Underground which conducted a campaign of bombing public buildings. William Ayers participated in the bombings of New York City Police headquarters in 1970, the United States Capital bombing in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972. Isn't this action similar to the Oklahoma City bomber, Timothy McVey?

When interviewed (since 2001) by a New York Times reporter William Ayers was quoted as saying, "I don't regret setting the bombs" and "I feel we didn't do enough". According to the Chicago Sun-Times; "In the mid-1990s, William Ayers hosted a meet-and-greet at his house to introduce Barack Obama to the neighbors during his first run for the Illinois Senate. In 2001, Ayers contributed $200 to Obama's campaign. Ayers also served alongside Obama between December 1999 and December 2002 on the board of the not-for-profit Woods Fund of Chicago. That board met four times a year, and members would see each other at occasional dinners the group hosted."

Knowing this factual information would you or your family associate with a person like William Ayers? Why would Barack Obama, who is aspiring to become the President of the United States, maintain contact and friendship with him even now? What is Barack Obama's response to befriending William Ayers? He was 9 years old when the bombings by William Ayers occurred. Do you think this shows good judgment?

William Ayers was/is a terrorist and why, why would anyone establish a relationship with someone that despicable? Would you befriend William Ayers if he came knocking at your door? When is a terrorist a terrorist? I guess it depends on what is politically correct. What's even more disturbing is the media choosing to ignore or downplay the subject.
