What are you looking at -- part 2

Today I was coaching a woman on prayer and goal setting. She was praying for a certain apartment to open up by a certain date, and for a certain amount of money to come in which would enable her to rent that apartment.

This was a wonderful coaching session because it brought up a number of important points that we all need to remember when we think about what we are looking at.

First of all, the Bible says that God loves us very much. We were created in Him image.

God also said that He would do two things (out of the bazillion other things He does for us). One is that He would provide for our needs. Two is that He would provide for our DESIRES.

Yes, I said DESIRES. At 1 Timothy 6:17, God tells us that the rich in this world are to trust "...in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy". KJV.

The word translated there as "things to enjoy", and in the New International Version as "things for our enjoyment" really does mean desires or pleasures. I looked it up in my Greek bible and lexicon.

Obviously there are the caveats about godly desires and needs, so forth. For the sake of this article and the coaching session, I was presuming the desires and needs are within the will of God.

The other point brought out in the coaching session is that our desires and needs have to be definite. When I am communicating, with someone, or attempting to, with someone, the more clear my desires are, the better understanding and response I will get from the other person. Even though God already knows what you want and need, and will say before even a word is spoken, still....it is imperative for you to be definite and clear.

Why? Because it is you who is going to have to be focusing on your needs and desires clearly expressed as you walk in faith until they are fulfilled. Remember the title above, "What are you looking at?".

Hebrews 11:1 tells us "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. KJV

So your needs and desires have to be definite and clear so that you can see their substance all the more clearly.

Another point brought out by my client was whether she should put a deadline on God for the prayer to be fulfilled. The answer is "YES".

Not only does a deadline give definite shape to your prayer desires and needs, but it is also a time when both you and God are to walk into a new tomorrow. That is going to be the start of a new thing between you two in the Lord.

SO WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU? Since you are the most important person reading this article, I am sure you don't mind my highlighting this section. Are you worth a better life?

That is a real and proving question for you to dwell on. If you answer "Yes, Mark. I am worth a better life! And I want it now!!!" ---- then you need to take action today.

You need to choose between $30 or $1,500. Today you choose to either get my book on hearing God's voice and improve your life as mentioned above (the $30 dollar choice). Or you choose to hire me as your prayer coach (the $1,500 dollar choice).
