Are you a kid under 18 and have something to say? Well check out this really cool website that allows you to do that and more. What Are Kids Saying is a new website for kids of all ages who have something to say about whatever they deem important.
Giving Kids A VoiceWe have heard it before that the kids are our future, but what does that mean? When are adults ready to listen to the "future"? It seems that, at times, adults can feel threatened of a person who is younger them and full of knowledge or they dismiss the children's feelings as a passing phase. However, the reality is that our children of the world have the most honest, inhibited way of looking at the world around them and abroad. They are able to look at the world in an abstract way and come up with some great ideas on how to solve some of the largest problems, if we give them a safe place to express these feelings and more importantly, take note of what they have to say.
What Are Kids Saying was developed for this reason; it is believed that kids would express themselves endlessly if they had a creative place to do and if they were taken seriously. What Are Kids Saying does all of that and more. It is a creative outlet for kids and it is safe because everything written is by kids.
Who's Backing WAKSKids aren't the only ones who are excited about this site. Ian Gold, the retired NFL linebacker, promotes projects like this. He and teammates, Dre' Bly and Rod Smith, adopted Place Middle School and their families; they made sure that everyone, at the school, had what they needed to make a proper holiday dinner.Ian Gold knows how important it is to take care of our children.
Greg Jennings, wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, also knows of the importance of children. Greg Jennings is the spokesperson for What Are Kids Saying. He promotes this great creative outlet for kids and more. He has done extensive work with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and other community programs that involves kids.
What Are Kids Saying encourages our youth to write what is on their minds; using whatever creative medium they desire. The stories written by kids can be fiction or nonfiction. Kids can write poetry, song lyrics, short stories, or pen a novel. Also, because it is for kids, they have a place to "go" and share the written word with their peers. They can share what is on their mind about
books, movies, songs, world issues, their own situations, school, friends, and more. The possibilities are endless. This positive creative outlet is a safe place where they can express their feelings without feeling like an outcast for doing so.
What Are Kids Saying helps our youth, here and abroad, express their feelings and opinions, in a creative way that will show the world who they are.
