After some review of the led based tv's, I ordered un55b7000 by samsung. My first impression was great. however like other reviewers, I could not get over the led corner lighting problem. I called samsung re. This. Then called amazon and returned the set.

I then decided to go for the UN55B8000 1080p set. So far so good!. This is a very nice set, in form and function. My big concern now is that this set may be discontinued!. I'm hoping for explanation as to the future of this very nice tv?

UN55B8000 1080p - Range of Intensity

when using the greater depth of contrast that exists on the
UN55B8000 1080p particularly in the black and white ranges you must change the 'dynamic' range to 'normal', 'standard' or 'movie' as required. .. to the age of the movie being watched. You do not have to do this on either the 6000 or the 7000 series ... for this greater range of contrast does not exist on either of these other Samsung tvs.

Purchased this TV after long debating with the XBR10 and I am glad I chose the Samsung with the slim mounting it is definitely looks like a painting on the wall.

Now just turn on your blu ray and you what you paid for true HD vivid experience.

The screen comes in a glossy finish so it kind of reflects everything when there's Light....

The widgets feature Lacks the Amazon on demand service (on amazon web site it says "Amazon Video On Demand is temporarily not available on Samsung")I hope that they Will fix it soon .

Accompanying this TV are Martin Logan speakers Denon receiver and A PS3 I'll post some Pics. You cant go wrong with this TV In one word AMAZING.

UN55B8000 1080p - Awesome Television

My UN55B8000 1080p delivered January 19. Pro Pilot he delivered in perfect condition, helped me unpack and configure it. Whereas I have seen for the damage and made sure it worked right.

This is my first widescreen TV and it is spectacular. I read lots of reviews before I spent money on this series. The most common fears are the angle of vision, a reflective screen and the price. The image quality is much better than I can describe with words. The most representative of a matte screen. I have a room with windows and not the magnitude of the problem. The viewing angle is not a problem unless you are next to the TV It converts standard definition signals very well.

Easy to configure. More HDMI inputs is enough. Regarding the price, worth every penny. Put the contents of a HD or blue ray on this thing and it is stunning. If you can not say now, I am extremely pleased with this TV I had some reservations about ordering something this big and expensive line. Amazon has done a great job that my TV arrived as promised. I would not hesitate to use them again.
