The Nokia E72 is a phone which has a feel of a Blackberry in some respects. Its features include a front face of half screen, half QWERTY keyboard which is synonymous with that particular brand. However Nokia have taken communication to another level with this handset, by offering internet access at speeds of up to 10.2 Mbps. The handset was released in October 2009 and is already proving a popular handset, it measures 114 mm x 58 mm wide and is only 10 mm thick. The phone is currently available in three colours which are zodium black, metal grey and topaz brown.

Connectivity is the key with this handset and is testified by the fact that the Internet access speed available with this handset is an incredible 10.2 Mbps. Apart from its obvious fast browsing capabilities the handset also provides GPRS and EDGE at class 32 level as well as Wi Fi, Blue tooth and microUSB.

The phone comes with a 2.36 inch TFT colour screen which is able to display an amazing 16 million colours and their variants. The screen operates at a pixel screen size of 320 x 240 pixels and displays images with lifelike colour representation and a clarity rarely seen within a mobile phone. A full QWERTY keyboard is provided on the front face which enables fast and effective data and text entry. In addition, and as a means of accessing functionality the handset also provides a five way scroll key and optical track pad.

The Nokia E72 comes with a 5 mega pixel camera which operates at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. To aid in taking effective imagery, the camera provides auto focus and an LED flash for illumination purposes. Video recording and playback are also provided on this camera and is at VGA quality whilst recording at 15 frames per second. A secondary camera provides the option of receiving and making video calls.

The Nokia E72, much like its sister phone the Nokia 6710 Navigator , is an accomplished handset which offers a multitude of functional features. The addition of a digital compass, MP3/MP4 player as well as versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint further enhance the package provided with this handset. Flash Lite version 3, an organiser and a voice command facility complete the ensemble.
