The ever expanding Nokia Slide range welcomes a new addition in the 6700 Slide. A stylish handset, it offers a great range of everyday functionality including a 5 MP camera and internet access and MP3 ringtones.

For storage of data such as media files and contact info, internal memory of 45 MB is provided. A micro SD slot is also included for this purpose and has a pre-installed 2 GB memory card; however this can be upgraded to up to 16 GB to gain further storage. The internal phonebook can store a large number of entries and has the popular photocall feature whereby a photo is assigned to each contact.

The TFT screen measures 2.2 inches and utilises a pixel layout of 240x320 to display up to 16M colours for great quality display of on screen content. The dimensions of the Nokia 6700 Slide are 95.2x46.1x15.9mm and it weighs just 110 grams making it a comfortable phone to hold and use.

As mentioned, the Nokia 6700 Slide is equipped with a built in digital camera boasting 5 Mega pixels (2592x1944 pixel resolution) for taking good quality still images. Autofocus and an LED flash make the task of taking photos simple even in poor lighting conditions. It features Carl Zeiss optics, reassuring users of the quality of the camera. It can also shoot video at a frame rate of 15 per second, and this is in QCIF quality.

The Nokia 6700 Slide has a good range of additional features, both for productivity and entertainment. An organiser and voice memo recording capabilities are included along with a versatile media player. This supports a host of different video and music file formats. Stereo FM radio playback and a range of games add to the entertainment options.

Vibration, polyphonic and MP3 ringtones alert users to incoming calls and messages, and allow a degree of handset customisation, as users can hear the music track of their choice whenever the phone rings. For hands free chatting, both an audio jack and a speakerphone are included.

Class 32 EDGE and GPRS offer the primary means of connecting to cellular networks in areas with low or nil 3G coverage. Where 3G is available, HSDPA provides internet access at speeds of up to 10.2 Megabytes per second along with HSUPA at 2 Mbps. Bluetooth and USB offer the means to connect to other compatible phones and computers for transferring media files etc.

The Nokia 6700 Slide provides an excellent choice of options for media fans, and is ideally suited to music playback and storage thanks to its expandable storage and versatile media player.
