Given offerings such as the Desire, it is easy to see why HTC are an increasingly popular mobile phone brand. Boasting a stunning spec list comprising of both appealing hardware and software along with pleasing aesthetics, it is easy to see the popularity of this handset.

The dimensions of the HTC Desire are relatively compact given its list of features. It is also relatively lightweight making it a pocket friendly handset. The HTC Desire boasts stunning design also making at an attractive handset which offers appeal to style conscious users who also view their phone as a fashion statement. The handset is also available in a number of colours, further adding to its aesthetic appeal.

The screen on the HTC Desire is a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen which utilises a pixel layout of 280x 800 whereby it can display up to 16M colours. This provides it with stunning display quality of the on screen content making perfect for viewing photos and video files. As well as utilising the touchscreen, the handset also features an optical trackpad beneath the screen, which offers a thumb-operated alternative method of navigating the HTC Sense UI. An additional feature of the screen is an accelerometer sensor which allows auto rotate of the screen allowing the screen's content to be viewed in both portrait and landscape forms.

The HTC Desire features comprehensive levels of internal memory for storage of data, as well as a micro SD card slot. This can accommodate a memory card of 32GB or less, providing ample storage heaps of data and files.

As you may expect from an HTC handset, a number of different connectivity features are utilises to provide optimum levels of connection to the internet and to cellular networks. GPRS and EDGE are both provided in class 10 versions to provide access to cellular networks and the internet in areas with little or no 3G coverage. In areas with 3G, and HSDPA connection is utilises to allow access to the internet at speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps being available. Wi-Fi technology allows users to enjoy a faster internet connection whenever it senses the signals provided by wireless internet routers. The handset can also connect to other compatible hardware devices in order to carry out a number of tasks, thanks to Bluetooth and micro USB connections.

Camera wise, the HTC Desire has an impressive 5 MP offering, which is perfect either for taking good quality images or also for those who like to take spontaneous snapshots. This camera is also capable of taking excellent quality video footage as an alternative method of image capture.

HTC have cleverly combined advanced features in an easy to use UI (HTC Sense), which is testament to its popularity.
