It is all in the numbers, sequences, the Da Vinci codes. Yes, it appears that the Italian master, Da Vinci has divined that his country, Italy will win this World Cup. Here's why.
1)Winner be from group of past winners (Da Vinci Codes, Fibonacci Sequences)
Most will agree that the winner will be from the group of 6 past winners (excluding Uruguay). This is further reinforced by the sequence of occurrences of past winner and new winner.
Year Winner New or Past Winner
1930 Uruguay New
1934 Italy New
1938 Italy Past
1950 Uruguay Past
1954 Germany New
1958 Brazil New
1962 Brazil Past
1966 England New
1970 Brazil Past
1974 Germany Past
1978 Argentina New
1982 Italy Past
1986 Argentina Past
1990 Germany Past
1998 France New
2002 Brazil Past
(1994 has been excluded as that was a one-off anomaly as the champion Brazil won in the first ever penalty shootout in a final).
Sequence of fives
In first 5 World Cups (1930 to 1954), there were 3 new winners. In next 5 World Cups (from 1958 to 1974), there were only 2 new winners. In subsequent 5 World Cups from 1978 to 1998 (excluding the anomaly 1994 final), there was only 1 new winner (France in 1998). The number of new winners every 5 World Cups follows a reverse Fibonacci sequence 3,2,1….. So the next number predicted by the Fibonacci sequence is that there will be NO new winners for next 5 World Cups from 2006 to 2022.
2)Winner will be from Europe
All signs point to a victory for a European country. Winner has always been from host continent except for 1958 when Brazil won in Sweden. The Continental Score : South America Vs Europe (9: 8) At any time, either SA or Europe tie or lead each other by 1 World Cup. Either continent has never led the other by more than 1 World Cup. The score as of 2002 is 9 for South America and 8 for Europe. Last winner was Brazil from South America so the winner this year should be from Europe
3)Survival of fittest/ Pyramid/ Normal Distribution/ Bell Curve
There is a survival of fittest principle at work within the group of 7 past winners. The 7 past winners self-organise into a pyramid with Brazil at top with 5 wins followed by 2 teams of 3 wins each and next level down 2 teams with 2 wins and at the bottom, 2 teams with 1 win each. The teams in pyramid competitively try to keep up with those above them so they stay close to the pack. Traditionally, the progress is made by teams one level below the previous World Cup. Brazil is at top and has won in last tournament so the past winners next level down i.e. Germany and Italy will be next to progress up the pyramid to match Brazil. So the most likely teams to win from this pyramid are either Germany or ITALY.
4)FIFA Rankings=Digital Root of Names
If A=1, B=2 and so on, the names of countries can be enumerated into a single digital root (the final digit derived by adding all the digits of a number) BRAZIL= 2+18+1+26+9+12=68 then 6+8=14 and 1+4=5 so the digital root of Brazil is 5. Only 5 strong countries have digital roots that match their latest FIFA rankings. Sweden (ranked 16) has digital root of 7, Netherlands (or Holland) ranked 3 has digital root of 3, Italy 13 (digital root 4) , USA 5 and Spain 5. Of these 5 countries, only ITALY is a former World Cup champion from Europe.
5)Digital Roots of WC Year
When digital root of World Cup Year is from 1 to 3, the winner was from Europe. (eg. Germany in 1990 and Italy in 1938) and when the digital root is 5 to7, the winner was from South America. When the digital root was 8, the winner was either ITALY or Brazil
WC Year Digital Root Winner Continent
1954 1 Germany Europe
1990 1 Germany Europe
1982 2 Italy Europe
1938 3 Italy Europe
1974 3 Germany Europe
1930 4 Uruguay South America
1966 4 England Europe
2002 4 Brazil South America
1958 5 Brazil South America
1994 5 Brazil South America
1950 6 Uruguay South America
1986 6 Argentina South America
1978 7 Argentina South America
1934 8 Italy Europe
1970 8 Brazil South America
1962 9 Brazil South America
1998 9 France Europe
6)1982 parallels with 2006-Repeat of history?
And Brazil was strong favorite in 1982 but lost. ITALY suffered a similar scandal pre-World Cup but went on to win in 1982. Yes, all the signs appear to divine ITALY as the 2006 World Cup champion.
