With features including a digital camera, Wi-Fi Internet access and a full QWERTY keyboard, the Blackberry Curve 3G offers an ideal handset for those who like to get the job done in an efficient manner. It has everything you need for day to day functionality, with comprehensive communication features as well as tools for keeping you entertained.

The handset measures 109x 60x 13.9 mm and weighs in at a very lightweight 104 g. The appearance of the handset is chunky and durable, and feels great in your hand when using it, leaving no doubts about the Blackberry build quality. The 2.4 inch TFT screen can display up to 65K colours, making it an effective phone for viewing photos and videos. For efficient text entry, there is a full QWERTY keyboard making it ideal for those who send a lot of E mails and text messages. In order to browse the user interface, there is also an optical track pad.

Vibration and ringing are utilised to alert users to incoming calls, messages and emails, and there a number of built in polyphonic ringtones along with the option to assign MP3 files for the purpose. Handsfree communication is carried out via built in speakerphone system whilst there is also a 3.5 millimetre audio jack which can support both hands free headsets as well as earphones for listening to music.

The Blackberry Curve 3G comes with 256 MB RAM and 256 MB ROM, however there is an integrated microSD card slot which uses can install a memory card of up to 32 GB, meaning they can potentially store thousands of files of many different formats, be they music tracks, video clips or photos etc.

Class 10 versions of both EDGE & GPRS keep the handset connected to its cellular networks, whilst Internet access is initially provided via an HSDPA connection in areas with 3G coverage. This provides a speedy and reliable connection, however an enhanced browsing experience can be achieved by utilising Wi-Fi connectivity whenever in proximity to a wireless Internet router.

Although basic, the built in two mega pixel digital camera can take decent quality snapshots, making it ideal for those who like to take spontaneous photos when out and about. An added bonus, users can also shoot video as an alternative method of image capture.

There are a number of built in entertainment features such as a media player which supports multiple music and video formats including MP3 and MP4 along with a selection of pre-installed games (plus access to a library of downloadable games). GPS with A-GPS support allows Blackberry Maps to function, whilst additional features include an organiser and voice memo recorder.

Whilst it will win no awards for its specifications for signing, the Blackberry Curve 3G provides a solid all rounder ideal for everyday use, and has already won over its fair share of fans since its release in August.
