Let's say that you're a business traveler who really needs to finish up a report, or a manager on the road who was counting on scheduling everyone's milestones for the week from a remote location before turning in for the night. Now, let's say that for some reason, the hotel where this business traveler or manager are both staying has terrible wireless internet, and the signal keeps dropping, or worse yet, you have to crouch in one corner of the room to get it to connect at all.

It the solution as simple as heading down to the business center? Not if it's not open, or if your hotel doesn't have one. So the shoes and pants are on, and it's down to the car to find the nearest spot with wi-fi, if there's even one open at the hour you need it.

More than just an irritating inconvenience, since technology has improved so much and also infiltrated more and more of life, it's not quite a crisis, but something closer to it when you're counting on a given that is still way more reliable than most of us realize. That's why the average business traveler needs something more than just wireless internet out on the road, and the ability to send an odd crucial email from a cell phone here and there.

As the business world gets quicker and quicker, there's not going to be the amount of time to play catch up, and things like "the network wouldn't connect" start to sound more and more like a grown-up version of "the dog ate my homework."

Enter the latest technology, one that, unlike so many others, might actually change the way that business is done from the road. Most people don't realize how helpful a cell phone is until they hit a dead spot where there's no service, but there's less and less of a likelihood that can happen now that the company's 4G networks criss-cross the whole nation.

Turning on a cell phone and it connecting to a network might require you, the cell phone owner, to not do so much work, but a number of factors have to be working together for you to be able to make that call or send that text. Add in the new addition of large-scale data, like email and even video, and there needs to be a reliable, high-speed system in place to move data from point a to point b and back again over and over.

Now, imagine if, instead of crouching in a corner with your laptop in some hotel room, frantically trying to find a wireless connection, you could just turn the laptop on, relax, and it would automatically connect to a network that isn't just reliable, but markedly faster than most Wi-Fi? It's not a dream. It's WiMax.

With WiMax, a system is in place that is a lot closer to how cell phones receive their content, where high-speed internet is available no matter where in the country you are. There's no more stressing out about whether or not you're going to have internet access. It's now a given. Talk about making business easier to do.

Excited about WiMax, but unsure of how exactly to get it? Clear internet and get set up for the next big communications revolution.
