The Discover Thailand Fares 2015 on offer from Thai Airways International throughout 2015 are available to foreign tourists visiting Thailand and who want to see different destinations in the kingdom.

Operating on a coupon system for use on Thai Airways domestic services, the Discover Thailand Fares are available to residents of a country other than Thailand and in conjunction with international travel originating and terminating outside of Thailand. The travel to and from Thailand does not have to be on Thai Airways.

A maximum of eight coupons and minimum three coupons can be purchased. These are priced at US$280 for the first three coupons and US$94 for each additional coupon.

The first three coupons can be used on any domestic sector operated by Thai Airways, except between Chiang Mai and Phuket. This sector is only available in Discover Thailand Fares 2015 from the fourth coupon onward and at the price of US$188 per coupon.

Discover Thailand Fares 2015 are available for ticketing and travel until 31 December 2015, with all travel to be completed by 31 December 2015. They have a maximum stay period of three months.

The price for children between two and 11 years of age is 75 per cent of the adult fare and for infants (not occupying a seat) 10 per cent of the adult fare.

A change in reservation can be made for the first or any other sector at least three hours in advance without a cancellation/reissue fee of US$50 being incurred, if there is no reissuance of ticket required.

As the kingdom's national flag carrier, Thai Airways International flies to Thailand from more than 60 destinations around the world in the Asia Pacific region, Europe, the Middle East and North America. Together with subsidiary THAI Smile, it operates domestically within Thailand to 10 points in the North, Northeast and South.

Thai Airways International is a founding member of the Star Alliance network that currently offers more than 18,500 daily flights to 1,316 airports in 192 countries.

In 2015 the airline is celebrating its 55th anniversary of operations.

As part of ongoing efforts to further improve its service levels, Thai Airways recently introduced a new baggage allowance policy on all its flights (except those to and from the USA) which permits passengers in all classes of travel an additional 10 kg of checked baggage weight.

It means that Royal First Class passengers are now permitted to check-in 50 kilograms of baggage compared to the previous 40 kg, Royal Silk Class passengers 40 kilograms compared to the previous 30 kg and Economy Class passengers 30 kilograms compared to the previous 20 kg. Royal Orchid Plus members are also entitled to additional baggage allowance based on their respective member status.
