Once seen as the mark of modern sophisticated living, a wall mounted plasma used to be the paramount of in-home entertainment.

In electronic stores everywhere a myriad of flat-panel TV technologies sit side-by-side on consumer shelves. With DLP, LCD, OLED and PDP's (plasma display panels) all outputting HD (high definition) signals, the acronyms are enough to drive the average person crazy.

With all the confusion a few companies are getting back to what every TV watcher wants - what looks best. With its new KURO televisions, Pioneer Electronics is drifting away from the mystifying numbers game of contrast ratios, resolution formats and moving towards a difference that, according to Pioneer, viewers can plainly see. With colors that are admittedly more vibrant than any other television and a picture that's anything but flat new KURO television are definitely in a class of their own.

After years of development, Pioneer's new line of KURO TVs focus on further enhancing the emotion of watching TV. The plasma TV maker isn't stopping there. Those days of a wall mounted plasma as a mark of distinction aren't over. Not with Pioneer's concept television.

A 9mm thin concept KURO television is the thinnest television in the world. Thinner than most magazines, slimmer than an iPhone, and instantly amazing, the Extreme Design plasma television is sure to bring back the stature of a plasma TV. Pioneer hasn't announced when this TV will be ready for purchase, but it won't be long until your living room has a plasma television nearly suspended in thin air.
