Many of us would crave for the food which pampers our taste buds, but it is proved that those foods are unhealthy. This is due to the fact that they are very low in the proteins and fibers and have a high level of carbohydrates present in them. And when these foods are consumed on regular basis, they might lead to serious health hazards such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. And high cholesterol leads to osteoporosis and other heart disease conditions. It is now the right time to switch from the unhealthy dishes to healthy recipes which help you to maintain an overall sound health and also make you look good by shedding those extra pounds.

Switching to healthy recipes is not painful anymore. Here are a few recipes which are healthy and tasteful too.

Are you in love with the meat? You can now prepare beef bok choy stew. The ingredients required are 1 pound stewing beef meat, 1 cup green onions which is chopped, 1 clove of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of ginger which is finely minces, 2 cups of chopped bok choy, 2 cups of chopped carrots, 2 cups of water, 1 cup of beef broth, cup of rice vinegar, 1/3 cup of light soy sauce, 2 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. First, cut the beef into bite sized chunks, then combine it with water, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, and beef broth. Heat the oil to medium high in a pot, and add the beef. Brown it on all sides and later add the broth mixture along with garlic and ginger. Now, reduce the heat and keep it in simmer for 1 hour or more till the beef has become soft. Add the carrots and mix well. Keep them in simmer for another couple of minutes till they become soft and add the bok choy and cook them for 5 minutes. Serve them with rice or noodles.


Its proved that nuts aids in glowing skin and sound health. Also, it is a wonderful snack which replaces the high fat chips. Mixed Nuts and Seeds with Honey is one such recipe. Take cup of slivered almonds, chopped hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, and honey. Also take one cup of raisins, teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of low fat butter. First melt the butter in a skillet on a medium heat and then add honey and mix well. Now keep adding almonds, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, salt and cinnamon and cook until the nuts become gold in color. Add the raisins and remove from heat. Relish it once it is cool down. A single scoop of low calorie ice cream or a mixture of fruits would be even more tasteful.
