In the South America, there is a big country near the Andes called Argentina. This country is so special and it's perfect for anyone, it doesn't matter what are you into, this country has it all. If you are mote into sports and active vacations you can go there for hiking, skiing, trekking, horse riding and a lot of other things. What ever you choose you want regret it.

Before you start with your vacation you have to decide where do you want to go and what do you want to do. Like I said, Argentina is really big country so you should choose if you want to spend your time on a vacation by the sea, breathing the fresh air in the mountains or do you like more spending time in the country side.

The weather

The weather in Argentina is really interesting and it can vary from extremely hot to extremely cold. Fortunately you do not have to think about those things cause those extreme conditions are in far south and near the Andes. I can not tell you the correct weather but I will at least tell you what can you expect in what parts of the country so that you can prepare.

First thing, Argentina is placed in the Southern Hemisphere and that means that the seasons are reversed. So, when you are enjoying the sun in the US, Argentina is covered by snow. The weather is mostly stable but in some parts, like near the Andes, it can be very unstable and unpredictable. There are a lot of rainfalls and floods, but you can also find there extreme heat and a lot of snow.

Argentina has a mild climate in most parts of the country, but there are also parts where the weather can be extreme and even brutal. The parts like far south of the country can be very cold and unpleasant for staying. Even the hotels are closed or with less staff at winter and there are no attractions or maybe just a few.

Most attractions are available during the high season /summer and winter) when people can go and do lots of things like skiing or horse riding. Patagonia is very nice, with mild weather, with great attractions, but can also be unpredictable.

The important things for you to remember are: the seasons are reversed; the high season (Dec-Feb and Jun-Aug) is the most expensive and the most crowded. The cheapest time to go (and also lee crowded) is on March, April, September, October and November.

Less or more crowded?

Like on every other country the most crowded times are during the holidays. Argentina is not an exception. If you want to avoid crowds than don't visit Argentina during the Christmas or Easter holidays; the same goes for spring break. Those times are the busiest and because everyone is on vacations it's normal to be crowded.

Attractions in Argentina

There are many attractions in Argentina, some of them you can see during the whole year, and some of them are available only during some seasons. Here's an example:

Summer (Jan-Feb)

Patagonia - trekking, horse riding, sightseeing in general, fishing

Andes - trekking, alpinism, horse riding

Autumn (Apr-May)

Northwest - trekking, horse riding

Northeast - visiting Iguassu Falls

Winter (Jun-Aug)

North Patagonia/Mendoza - skiing

Spring (Sep-Nov)

Buenos Aires - the most beautiful season, especially in November with the jacarandas in blossom

The cheapest time for visit

We can divide the tourist flow into two parts - the high season (most visited) and the low season (less visited). Of course, many people are here in the high season (December-February and July-August) because of the most appropriate weather but, for the same reason the prices are the biggest during that time. So if you would like to avoid the high prices you will have to avoid the high season also. That's bringing us to the low season (September, April and June) where the prices us the lowest and is less crowded. But the weather in the low season is not so good but not bad either. Unfortunately it's all about money. It's your choice and you know the best what can and can not afford.

Final words

Your vacation in Argentina can only be good and better, in any way it can not be bad so don't worry. Pack your bags and prepare yourself for the best vacation ever.

Have a great trip!
