Meditation is a very important practice that most people overlook. By meditating regularly, you will improve many areas of your life that I will explain later in this article. Although I won't explain how to meditate, I will provide six important suggestions that will help you meditate better.

A very important way to meditate successfully is through concentration. Make sure that you are not distracted with anything. Bad days to meditate are: when something bad/good happened to you, when something out of the ordinary is going to occur soon or when you are just not in the mood to meditate. If you can't keep your mind focused in meditation, then don't do it. Try to clear your mind of any problems or simply wait until you are feeling better.
2. Happiness
Being happy will make your meditation sessions more fulfilling. You will not only be less distracted with your personal problems, but you will have a positive mindset that will allow you to meditate much better.
3.Blanking your Mind
This is a very important concept. You must be able to think about nothing while you're meditating. But how do you think about nothing? At first it will be very difficult, but there are ways to train yourself. The most common is this: while you are meditating, focus on your breathing. Only focus on that. After a few weeks of constant training you'll be able to focus on nothing while you meditate, this is the ideal state.
4.Perseverance
The most important aspect of meditation is perseverance. Why? Because if you stop after a few days or weeks, all your past progress will be lost. Even if you practice only once per week, you have to stick to that and do it always. Meditation has many benefits that will help you in the long term. Perseverance brings us to our last tip:

You have to make time for meditation and stick to that. Schedule yourself realistically. Can you meditate three times per week? Twice per week? At what time? The best time to meditate is undoubtedly very early in the morning as you will be relaxed after the night's sleep and there will be less human distractions.
6. Being Comfortable
While meditating, it's very important to be entirely comfortable. There are many ways to improve your meditation area, but the most important is to sit comfortably. As you will be sitting on the floor to improve your posture, you might want a yoga pad to be more comfortable. Many people suggest playing music while practicing meditation to increase your comfort levels. You might also want to arrange your meditation place in a way that makes you feel better.
If you follow these six tips, your meditation sessions will improve greatly. Above everything else, you should be very constant with your schedule. Although meditating every morning might be hard for most people, it would bring you incredible results in the short and long term.
