Side Effects of Cephalexin 500

Side effects that may occur while taking Cephalexin 500 mg include vertigo, fatigue, headache, mild diarrhea, or stomach disturbances. If they persist or are worrisome, check with your physician. Contact your doctor immediately if you experience vaginal irritation or discharge, mood or mental changes, or joint pain. Speak with your physician immediately if you experience possible cephalexin 500 mg side effects such as: spasms; yellowing of the eyes or skin; red, blistered, swollen or peeling skin; unusual bruising or bleeding; less urination; severe stomachaches or cramps; confusion; or bloody or severe diarrhea. A strong adverse reaction to cephalexin 500 mg is less likely to occur, but seek prompt medical attention if it does. Signs of an allergic reaction include irritation, itching, inflammation, severe giddiness, or difficult breathing. If you notice other effects to cephalexin 500 mg not listed above, consult with your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.

Avoid cephalexin 500 mg if you have had an allergic reaction to it or are allergic to any compound in this product. If you have had a serious allergic reaction to a cephalosporin antibiotic (such as Ceclor, Keflex, Ceftin, Duricef) or a penicillin antibiotic (such as amoxicillin or ampicillin), speak with your physician or pharmacist before taking cephalexin 500 mg. A severe reaction includes a severe rash, inflammation, breathing difficulties, or lightheadedness. If you have doubts about whether you are allergic to cephalexin 500 mg, or if a certain medicine is a cephalosporin or penicillin, consult with your physician or pharmacist. If you experience any of the following cephalexin 500 mg side effects: difficulty breathing or tightness of chest; swelling of eye-lids, face, or lips; or develop a rash or hives, tell your doctor right away. Do not take any more of this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so. If your symptoms do not alleviate within a few days, or if they deteriorate, check with your doctor.

Cephalexin 500 mg may cause dizziness. Avoid driving, operating machinery or anything else that could be harmful until you know your side effects to cephalexin 500 mg. Using cephalexin 500 mg alone with other medicines, or with alcohol may impair your capability to drive or to perform other possibly harmful tasks. If moderate to severe diarrhea is observed during or after therapy with cephalexin 500 mg, check with your healthcare provider or pharmacist.

If your side effects to cephalexin 500 mg do not relieve in a few days' period, or if they accentuate, check with your medical advisor. Do not give cephalexin 500 mg to others for whom it was not prescribed. Do not use cephalexin 500 mg for other health conditions. Keep cephalexin 500 mg out of the reach of children.
