Samsung are one of the main contenders in the touchscreen phone battle. Let's check out three of their best phones, that show just how good their touchscreens have become.
Samsung Jet
Coming soon from the Korean manufacturer is the new Samsung Jet, a touchscreen phone with a brand new interface, based on a 3D cube. Whilst it shares many design similarities with TouchWiz, the new Cubic UI in the Samsung Jet is a whole new experience, where you can flip between screens by dragging your finger, and rotating the cube round. The UI is brilliant, but in terms of feature, the Samsung Jet is no slouch, either. You get a 5 megapixel camera, HSDPA, and a superb web browser, and although the Samsung Jet isn't a smartphone (nor meant to be one), it's one of the nicest feature phones out there.
Samsung Tocco Ultra
What would happen if you took the awesome camera, and the sumptuous interface of the Pixon, but gave it a slide-out keyboard, and unbelievably, made it thinner than its predecessor? You'd get the gorgeous Samsung Tocco Ultra, one of the prettiest phones Samsung have ever made. It really is quite astounding that, despite being thinner than the Pixon, the Samsung Tocco Ultra manages to squeeze in that beautiful keyboard. If amazing looks (with superb features) are what you seek from a phone, then the Samsung Tocco Ultra is perfect for you.
Samsung i8910 HD
Both the Samsung Jet and the Samsung Tocco Ultra are incredibly pretty, and very nice-to-use phones, but neither of them are smartphones. So, a phone that exceeds the sex appeal of both, and has real smartphone power: the Samsung i8910 HD. In this case, the HD in its name isn't an accident or a cheapo marketing gimmick; the Samsung i8910 HD is the first phone in history that will record true HD video. So, as well as the sublime photos it produces, you also get pin-sharp video. And with the rest of the phone, things just get even better. The Samsung i8910 HD may have a TouchWiz interface reminiscent of the previous two, but what that UI sit on top of is Symbian. What you're looking at, in the Samsung i8910 HD is a true smartphone, that will record better video than any other phone in the world, and that looks better than most of them, too. There's little wonder, then, that the Samsung i8910 HD is already being touted as one of the best phones of 2009.
