So you want to learn the quickest way to build muscle? You're not alone. Ask almost any guy and he will tell you that he would like to have more muscle definition if he could. The only problem is that most people don't know how to do it and they give up before making any real progress. Well don't worry, it's not as hard as you might think and building impressive amounts of muscle is possible for anyone... even you! You just have to do two things correctly.
First, you have to workout correctly. If you want to build serious muscle, you have to workout your entire body. A good workout for beginners is to do a full body workout three times per week, with at least a day of rest in between each. In this workout you would do 1 exercise for each body part, completing 1-2 sets per exercise.
The amount of weight you should use will vary from person to person. You should use to most weight possible that will allow your muscles to fatigue (or fail) somewhere in the 8-12 rep range. If you can get more than 12 reps, its not enough weight. If you cant quite get 8 reps, its too much weight.
Second, the absolute quickest way to build muscle is to eat correctly. You have to eat enough calories not only to repair your muscles, but to make them grow as well! An easy way to determine your diet is to figure out the amount of calories you eat on a daily basis. This is your maintenance caloric intake.
Once you determine this number, you should add 500 calories to this. So if you are eating 2000 calories a day, you should now be eating 2500 calories a day. This should be optimal to gain muscle. Make sure you eat about 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight and eat lots of good carbs.
So now you know how to gain slabs of muscle in no time. But remember, the results will not come overnight, you must stay consistent and stick to your plan. The beginning can be hard at times, but once you start seeing results, you won't want to quit!
