Thinking to match my wedding reception with me

By: Evie Lampard | Posted: 26th October 2006

My wedding/reception is about the corner. It is actually taking place on a large field overlooking the ocean, and is perched on top a slight cliff (and yes, it is fenced off with a sturdy fence). I don't know if you have ever been up this way, but many beaches are rocky, not sandy, and this is the case for our location. You have to go down a steep flight of stairs to get to the water, which I would like to rope off for the wedding. I have to discuss that with the resort owners first.

I am thinking a half up/half down updo that has certainly not been straightened and recurled, which has been the case for all of my hairdo experiences except for one, which actually was really nice, but was not so much "me." I only wear my hair partly up for work, all other times it is down and flying around at its own will.

I found some really nice bead things to entwine throughout my hair, to give it some sparkle (my dress is also beaded with sparkly beads). I know I will never put anything like that in my hair again, so I am willing to do it just once for our big day. Getting it out will be trouble, I know that. Also, perhaps a beaded comb to match. I am leaning less towards a tiara and veil due to the fact that it is an outdoor wedding and intentionally less formal than a traditional church ceremony and hall reception. Less formal by means of non-traditional venues. Well, in this case, venue.
