Everyone is a vendor.

But, I'm not a vendor! Yes, you are! In today's era of cut backs and massive unemployment, everyone is a vendor. The used merchandise business is still thriving, and there are two main reasons for that.
First, it's the green thing to do. When you go to the local thrift store and buy a used couch or dresser, you just recycled. You just saved space in the local landfill for regular garbage. The last time you had a yard sale you recycled everything you sold. A yard sale is no different than taking a bag of cans down to the recycling center and getting money for dropping them off. It amazes me how folks will diligently save every aluminum can from their household garbage and take them to the recycling center thinking they are doing their part to save the world. Yet, they don't think twice about setting a used dresser or a box of old records out in their trash. People are piling the landfills with stuff other people can reuse or things charities can resell to pay for their programs. When you call the Salvation Army and tell them you have a bedroom set you want to donate, you are recycling.
The second reason the used merchandise business is still thriving is because folks are trying to keep the house payment paid and groceries on the table. Everybody has stuff around the house that they no longer need or that they can do without in order to make ends meet. We have all had a yard sale at one time or another. That's the first thing that comes to mind when we think of getting rid of stuff.
With a site like iamavendor.com, you can take a yard sale to the next level. You can list your larger items or highly collectable items in their own category. When you do this a week or two prior to your yard sale, you will get the attention of potential buyers who will plan to be at your sale. A great "how to make money" page is http://www.iamavendor.com/index.php?a=28&b=154. Here they explain how to market your items, how to find more items to sell, and how to make money in the used merchandise business. This is a great way to create extra income from your home. Everyone is a vendor, some just have not realized it yet.
