A Review Of The World's Easiest - Flip Ultra HD Camcorder
By: Leslie Mckinney | Posted: 15th June 2009
A sturdy pocket sized camera, the Flip Ultra HD is easy to use and low cost. This camera is discreat and doesn't take up unessesary space.
This camera can take some quality videos for its size and weight. The colour display is vibrant, even with only a two inch screen. It has great sound recording and playback, and inbuilt speakers that are very loud and clear. The Ultra HD also has a HDMI port and can suport two AA batteries, unlike all the other Flip cameras.
There are some problems with this camera -
The base of the camera is unevenly shaped. The camera may shake when placed on a flat surface because of the uneven base. This is something to be aware of when using the camera. Though it is to be noted that the camera has not yet fallen when I've been using it.
In low light situations the video quality is pretty bad. It becomes very grainy. The image stabalization appears to be non-exsistant, so hold the camera very steady to record high quality videos.
The display doesn't tell you how much battery power the rechargeble battery has left until it is about to die. Once all the power has left the battery it takes up to 7 hours to fully recharge.
When you're watching a video clip on the camera there is no way to fast forward or rewind.
Knowing how technology moves, I'd guess that many of the issues above will be fixed when the Flip gets upgraded to the next version. Is it better to wait for the new version, or to try this one? It really depends on what you need. If you like to have a camcorder in your pocket for all those off the cuff moments, the the Flip Ultra HD is absolutely perfect for you. If you want movie quality, with image stabilization, and able to handle all lighting variations, then you need to look for a different camera
The Flip UltraHD is fun to use, easy to carry, quick to point and shoot and downloads to send easily.About the Author
