Blackberry 8830 smartphone is equpped with a full QWERTY keypad, high speed email and messaging capabilities, a built-in GPS navigator. Blackberry 8820 smartphone has 64 MB of internal memory, which can be expanded further by microSD cards. The 8830 features surprisingly loud speakers for enjoying music (AAC, MP3, WMA), but they project only average audio quality. This is the first CDMA BlackBerry smartphone capable of roaming globally on GSM/GPRS networks so you can travel the world with full mobile voice and data coverage, without having to change smartphones, phone numbers or email addresses.
The Blackberry 8830 smartphone measures 114mm x 66mm x 15mm (4.5" x 2.6" x .6") in size and has a 134g weight. It offers QVGA (320x240) pixel resolution in a landscape orientation and has good color saturation and brightness. The automatic brightness adjustment mode keeps the display readable while conserving battery power. The display measures about 2.4" across the diagonal, which is reasonable for a device of this size. BlackBerry 8830 has the new BlackBerry form factor with that attractive, slim body and trackball control, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.0, push email support, PIM applications and built-in GPS and navigation. The camera-less BlackBerry 8830 is designed for corporate users who require more security in their working environment. The Blackberry 8830 smartphone works on both digital dual band 800/1900 MHz CDMA networks and dual band 900/1800 MHz GSM/GPRS networks for use in Europe and Asia (the US uses the 850/1900MHz GSM bands only, which the 8830 doesn't support). The 8830 World Edition also lets you view (but not edit) Word, Excel, and PDF files. BlackBerry Messenger is included, but we preferred to use the free Google Talk for BlackBerry Devices download, as it's a more universal communication tool. The BlackBerry 8830 is more than a smartphone. It's also a digital multimedia player with the ability to listen to MP3s, watch videos, and store, organize, view, and share photos.
Blackberry 8830 smartphone is equipped with a 128 x 160 external screen that shows the caller identity. This external screen makes it very easy to preview e-mails, sms' or phone calls without actually having to open the phone The screen will also show an analog or digital clock depending on user choice as well as showing notifications of messages and other notifications or warnings such as low battery. Battery life of the BlackBerry 8830 is extremely impressive. If you frequently make calls, as well as send/receive text messages and e-mail, the BlackBerry will probably last about two to three days before needing to recharge. You can use the included software to easily sync contacts, calendar, and e-mail between the 8830 and your computer. The blackberry 8830 smartphone comes with a mini-USB-to-USB cable so that you can connect it directly to your computer. Also, you can always use Bluetooth if your computer has that functionality.
