Web Design and SEO

It's funny how Web Design and SEO are really intertwined when it comes to the internet. Why is that? If you're wondering, I'm an SEO specialist with a background in web design I've see both sides of the coin. Way back when the internet was only for the pioneers and geeks (sorry, I'm one too), web design is web design and a website will promote itself as long as you do a good job on its design. SEO wasn't even widespread back then.
In the recent years, there has been a boom in the sheer number of websites that made having a website a website means nothing unless you market it or make it easier to find for the everyday internet user. Here's where SEO came in.
SEO worked hand in hand with design since it was concerned with the content and look of the website. According to an Orange County web design company, Crest Media Inc., it really was inevitable when you're fighting for the spotlight against millions, your website would mean nothing if your buried behind even a hundred others. By doing SEO you are seen and if you're design's good then next time they'll come back for the website itself.
In the case of this Orange County web design company, they do both, they design and do online marketing campaigns because what would happen to the websites they make if nobody can appreciate it. They apply SEO techniques in their design to make their websites easier to find and index by the search engine spiders.
Unlike if you don't key in SEO as a factor in the development, the designs have a tendency to be centered on the aesthetics, I'm not saying that this is bad, the website still needs to look good but why not hit two birds. By doing SEO you think of how a user really does use your website, you think how the search engine find the website and most of all you get to analyzing what your target market is and how you can target to be seen by them.
