Today people are looking for the best way to present themselves before the general public. Their appearance gives an impression of who they are and what they want people to see about them. One of the first things that people see about you is your smile and the condition of your oral cavity. If you want to make a great impression you want to have a beautiful white smile. There are many ways to achieve a fantastic smile. First it is important that you go to your dentist for regular checkups and cleanings. The next is if you are not satisfied with the whiteness of your teeth to decide on a way in which to whiten them.

The dentist has professional whitening systems that can whiten your teeth. Most of these systems are relatively expensive in the $300 .00 to $500.00 range. If you decide that you cannot or do not wish to pay these amounts for teeth whitening there are home whitening methods available in your pharmacy, markets and on the internet.

There is a method that is very inexpensive and effective in whitening your teeth. You may use a baking soda mixture that will be effective and is inexpensive. You may mix a few teaspoons of baking soda with a few drops of glycerin and a few drops of peppermint for taste and brush your teeth with this mixture. Another baking soda mixture that can be used is to mix a couple teaspoons of baking soda with a food grade peroxide to form a paste. The mixture should be about 50% baking soda and 50% peroxide. The baking soda mixture forms a gentle abrasive mixture that is like the cleaning paste that is used in cleaning your teeth in the dental office by the dental hygienist. Continuous utilization of these baking soda mixtures will remove yellow stains from your teeth and whiten and brighten them.

Be sure to rinse your mouth after your brushing and do not swallow either of these baking soda mixtures In the event you do accidentally swallow the baking soda and peroxide mixture drink plenty water in order to dilute the mixture in your stomach.
