The fact that depression is not always preventable is a valid argument but when using the following ideas you can be in good

spirits in no time, and most of the time. Although, being happly all the time is unrealistic, there are things we can do about it.

To begin, Yoga and exercise is known to help you look and feel better. Most people who continue to exercise continue to see change

for the better. Endorphins are produced from a variety of exercise routines and reduces stress and enhance good moods. Just that

information alone is enough to start an exercise program, and when you look good to yourself, you tend to feel good also.

If it's

been a while since you've exercised, try going to a beginners Yoga class.

There are other options and things to avoid.

Check your local religious centers and participate in social activities, support

groups, and other activities that will uplift your spirits. Go fishing or bowling and hang out with people and share a few good

laughs. Surround yourself with positive and energetic folks and competition should not be taken too seriously. Don't be a hermit

and stay at home too much but try to avoid clubs or other get togethers that serve alcohol. Alcohol is a depressant and should not

be used as a solution to depression

Lastly, visit self-improvement websites or read

books. Discover that "Gem" within you and allow your light

to glow. And know when others see your glowing light it quietly gives them permission to let their light shine also.
