Pretend Toys, nurture your children imagination

In the early years, children are just beginning to understand the difference between fantasy and reality. For example your child can grasp the difference between her real mommy and the mommy they pretends to be when playing house. They will apply that experimental knowledge in other situation.
A wide variety of choices of pretend toys are offered in the market. Many of them are a perfect imitation of grown up. Profession such a doctor, a policeman, a teacher, a chef, a musician or just a family member is their favorite.

When they play with thesepretend toys , they are actively experimenting with the social and emotional roles of life. When a child pretends to be deferent characters, they can see the world from their own point of view. But we can believe through maturation and cooperative play they will begin to understand the feeling of others.

Pretend toys also able to builds vocabulary. For example when they play toy kitchens they quickly learn the big words for the tool names if you point them out. We can introduce specific words when they play pretend medical toys. In addition by pretend playing with other, they learn that words give him the means to reenact a story or organize play.


If you have not enough pretend toys in your house, consider creating a prop box or corner filled with object to spark your children fantasy world. It may include an empty box for creating a house, old clothes, shoes, stuffed animals and dolls of all sizes, fabric pieces, blanket and old sheets. You can also add writing materials for taking phone messages, leaving notes for making shopping list and photos for a pretend vacation trip.
