I didn't used to like shopping for clothes and things but since I have lost three stone, I have begun to realise how many nice clothes there are out there and how nice it is to look really good. I have started buying a few really classic pieces such as stylish jeans and tops, coats and
womens shoes. I have been looking for things which are a good quality and do not age so that they will last me a long time.
I think it is good spending a lot of money on something and then it will last a long time. I think that if you really want to change with the fashions then it doesn't matter so much as you will change your outfits with the seasons. However if you want something to last year after year then it needs to be more classic so that it does not go out of fashion so quickly. I have started looking in different shops as well. I used to be afraid to look at
teen clothing thinking that I was too old to wear it, but now I am a smaller size, I seem to be able to get away with wearing things which I never thought that I could. I also used to feel self conscious as I thought that people were looking at me and wondering whether someone of my size should be in such as shop but I now have more confidence and do not care about what people are thinking.
I dress up smartly when I go shopping and feel happy to go in any shops, whether they are cheaper ones or ones aimed at people with more money, because I feel that I can easily buy things from either shop. I have also bought a couple of
formal dresses for summer events that I have coming up - a wedding and a Christening. I have been careful to choose styles which are classical and colours which are not too fashionable. I am hoping that I will be able to wear them again sometime. It is tricky with this sort of thing because you do not really want to be seen in the same thing twice so unless you can somehow change the outfit significantly with different accessories or wear it to an occasion which has different people attending to the first one.
