Get Access to Blocked Attachments in Outlook
To gain access to blocked attachments in Outlook:
· Select Run… from the Start menu.
· Type "regedit".
· Hit Return.
· Travel down to this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice12.0OutlookSecurity.
· Go to …Office11.0Outlook… for Outlook 2003 and
· …Office10.0Outlook… for Outlook 2002.
· Add a new string value called "Level1Remove".
· Make its value a list of allowed file extensions separated by semicolons.
· For example, "exe;url" allows access to executables and Internet shortcuts.
Automatically Cc: All Mail You Send in Outlook
To send a carbon-copy of all mail you send in Outlook to a particular email address:
· Select Tools | Rules and Alerts… from the menu.
· Click New Rule….
· Highlight Check messages after sending.
· Click Next >.
· Click Next > again to copy all mail you send.
· You can define any combination of criteria to copy only certain messages before clicking Next >.
· If you specified no filtering criteria, click Yes.
· Make sure Cc the message to people or distribution list is checked under Step 1: Select action(s).
· Click people or distribution lists under Step 2: Edit the rule description.
· Double-click contacts or lists from your address book or type an email address under To ->.
· Separate multiple addresses with semicolons (;).
· Click OK.
· Click Next >.
· Click Next > again.
· Precede the email address already entered under Step 1: Specify a name for this rule with "Cc: ".
· Click Finish.
· Click OK.
Give Your Outlook Accounts Friendly Names
To assign nice and memorable names to your Outlook email accounts:
· Select Tools | E-Mail Accounts… from the menu in Outlook.
· In Outlook 2003:
· Make sure View or change existing e-mail accounts.
· Click Next >.
· Highlight the desired account with its old name.
· Click Change….
· Now click More Settings ….
· Go to the General tab.
· Under Mail Account, enter the name you want the account to go by.
· Click OK.
· Now click Next >.
· Click Finish.
· In Outlook 2007, click Close.
Get Reminded to Reply to a Message in Outlook
To make Outlook reminded you to reply to an email:
· Right-clicking on the message you want to set the reminder for.
· Select Follow Up | Add Reminder… from the menu.
· In Outlook 2000-2003, select Flag for Follow Up from the context menu.
· Choose the date when you have to completed the task.
· Click OK.
Prevent Outlook from Answering Read Receipt Requests
To make Outlook ignore all requests for read receipt you receive:
· Select Tools | Options… from the menu.
· Go to the Preferences… tab.
· Click E-mail Options…
· Now click Tracking Options….
· Make sure Never send a response is selected under Use this option to decide how to respond to requests for read receipts. Only applies to Internet Mail accounts..
· Click OK.
· Click OK again.
· Click OK once more.
