North Devon's Family Attractions

North Devon is experiencing a booming tourist trade as more and more people discover what this magical part of the country has to offer. Thousands of us will be heading to the North Devon coast this year for our summer holidays. Many of those heading down the M5 into Devon will be families who will be looking to make sure there kids have a fun and memorable holiday. North Devon is a great destination for people of all ages and has something to appeal to people from 1 month to 100; as a result the region has plenty of family friendly activities and attractions.

The Beach
Heading to the beach is a requisite of any North Devon Holiday and somewhere the kids will be itching to go to. When staying in North Devon you are positively spoilt for choice when it comes going to the beach as there is just so many to choose from. There are fantastic golden sandy beaches right across the North Devon coast from quite sandy coves to miles upon miles of beach and sandy dunes. In fact there are so many that you will never manage to visit them all during your stay.

The Milky Way
A trip to this North Devon theme park could be out of this world! The Milky Way is home to the tallest, fastest and longest roller coater in Devon and a number of fantastic rides, live shows and plenty more. The Milky Way is also a great all weather attraction so should the Devon sunshine fail you have the biggest indoor adventure playground in the area with slides for kids and adults as well. Along with all the modern rides you can take part in more ancient country pursuits such as archery and bird of pray displays.

The Big Sheep
If you haven't been sheep racing then you are missing out! But don't worry because the Big Sheep hold its famous sheep races, complete with little jockeys, at there fun and fascinating attraction. See sheep shearing done by the experts, witness sheep dancing to music, take a pony ride, go mountain boarding and even try some free Beer, adults only of course, plus many more fantastic family fun attractions which will get you up close and personal to the countryside. Once you have finished playing with the animals why not head into the massive indoor play area or pit family members against each other in the state of the art outdoor laser games.

Coombe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park
Come and see the countries only full size animatronic T-Rex along with a Meglosaur, Velociraptor and a Dilophosaurus who you should keep an eye on in case he sprays you with water. There aren't just pre-historic creatures at the park; there are plenty of modern animals too including sealions, birds of pray, lemurs and even some lions. There are a number of attractions too including the Tomb of the Pharaohs and the Earthquake Canyon Train Ride.
