The cap is the part of the wig onto which the hair is attached during non-surgical hair replacementsession. There are different types of cap and hair is attached to them in various ways.

Standard Cap: This is the most often used and most easily affordable cap. Layers of hair are machine-sewn onto the lacy fabric that the cap is made from. This type of cap gives good natural lift at the crown if you are looking for extra volume.

Capless Wig: This is lighter and cooler to wear than a standard cap because of the way it's constructed. It has vertical strips of lacy fabric with spaces between them.

Monofilament Caps: These are made from thin, breathable fabric that allows some of the wearer's own scalp to show through. This gives the most natural look of all the caps. To enhance this, each human hair wig is tied on by hand so that the hair on the crown may be parted or brushed and will still look entirely natural. This is a very good one if you have partial or total hair loss as it's the softest cap of all and is kind to sensitive scalps.

How to know what size to choose for hair replacement wigs?

To measure your size, take a tape measure around your head so that it makes a diagonal shape. It should rest on your ears - like spectacles - and go from the nape of your neck to your front hairline.

If you're buying online, check the manufacturers sizing guide to make sure you order the right size. The size that most people need is 21½ inches to 22½ inches but measure your head just to be sure.
