Non woven Fabric

Non woven Fabric is truly a fabric like content manufactured by way of long fibers, attached together by mechanical, chemical, heat or solvent treatment. Non woven Fabric is not woven nor knitted. Non woven is generally manufactured by putting small fibers together in the form of a sheet or web and then binding them either mechanically or chemically with an adhesive.

Non woven Products are generally less strong due to not knitted. In recent years, non woven have become an alternative to polyurethane foam. Non woven fabric is broadly described as sheet or web structures attached collectively by entangling fiber or filaments (and by perforating films) mechanically, thermally or chemically. It is flat, porous sheets that are made directly from separate fibers or from molten plastic or plastic film. It is not manufactured by weaving or knitting and do not require converting the fibers to yarn. Typically, a certain percentage of recycled fabrics and oil-based materials are used in non woven fabric. The percentage of recycled fabrics vary based upon the strength of product needed for the specific use.

Non-woven fabric is engineered fabrics that may be a limited life, single-use fabric or a very durable fabric. Non woven fabric provides specific functions such as absorbent, liquid repellent, resilience, stretch, softness, strength, flame retardant , washable, cushioning, filtering, bacterial barrier and sterility. These features are often combined to create textile suitable for specific jobs, while achieving a good balance between product use-life and cost. It can mimic the appearance, texture and strength of a woven fabric and can be as bulky as the thickest padding. In mixture with other materials it provides a spectrum of products with diverse characteristics, and is used alone or as components of apparel, home furnishings, health care, engineering, industrial and consumer goods. Non-woven fabric has its qualities, which are as follows:
