Nintendogs Review

If there is one game that has the word "adorable" written all over it, then this is it. Nintendogs, in some ways, follows the trend that was once known as "tamagotchi" or "nano pets." We all remember the "raise your pet" craze back in the day that came in the form as little digital pets.

Nintendogs, in a way, continues that tradition, but in my opinion, adds so much more. If you ever wanted a dog, but wanted a little "test run" to see if your really up to raising one, considering that it is a big responsibility, then Nintendogs is for you. The game is played on the DS, and is actually pretty cool.

By utilizing the DS's built-in microphone, this enables you to literally blow bubbles at your dog. You can pet your dog with the stylus. You can train your puppy by utilizing voice commands. You can teach it new tricks, let it play with toys, and the list goes on.

One of the cool things about the game is that it puts you in first-person perspective, so it really feels like you are communicating with a real puppy. They will come right up to the screen and put their paws flat against it, as if the dog were actually placing it's paws on you. Another great thing about this game are the animations and "dog behavior."

These puppies behave in such a life-like manner that you actually begin to care for them. Game enthusiasts and critics alike are always talking about emotional connections or video games evoking emotion. Well, here it is. You begin to care for the puppy as if it were your own. As a sidenote, I actually had a friend, who after playing Nintendogs decided to get himself a real dog.

Well, that just about wraps it up for this review. I don't like to place numbers with my reviews, but to put it simply, if you like dogs, then get out there and grap this game.
