Network Marketing Products--Product Experts Finish Last

Some people start their MLM business with the plan of learning everything they possibly can about their company's products or service. They dedicate themselves to becoming a network marketing products expert. It may sound logical, but that is a total waste of time. You cannot build a MLM business by selling product ... because you are not a salesperson. If you have to convince people to buy your product, then you are dead before you start. Even worse, you won't be able to train anyone else to sell a product. Selling just is not duplicatable.

Instead, what you must do is become an expert on people, because in network marketing, people are your REAL product. Your real goal is to help people achieve their dreams in life. You must build a relationship and that means you must understand them and build trust with them. Trust is the most important thing. So what you really need to get good at is relationship-building skills. Train yourself to be a great listener, so you understand exactly what the people you talk to want. Focus on helping them get it. To reach their dreams, they'll buy your products ... if YOU have built that relationship with them.


In anything you do, you'll be more successful if you find a proven model before you try to do it yourself. That is certainly true in network marketing. Your ideal coach or mentor is someone with has a proven system of recruiting new people. It's a good idea to search out a mentor who is building their own successful MLM business right now, today. Because the world of network marketing has changed a ton, even in just the last 5 years. Plus, it's important that the people that person has gotten started in the business have also been successful building, using the same system.

Note: It's not important to be sponsored by that person but it is important to have access to that person through your sponsor.

You need to be certain, upfront that both the system and the duplication are REAL. That's definitely a rare thing in our industry. But when you do find that situation, it is certainly a very valuable model for you.

You get people calling you up these days, promising that when you sign up for their training, then you'll be to personally sign up 20 or 25 new people in your downline each week. Sure, that is theoretically possible, but you sure can't do it if you're building strong relationships with your people. So can you really believe that claim? To find out for sure, just ask to be put on the line with the 20 people the caller signed up last week. That's certainly fair and chances are, that request will end the conversation.

I'm now happily unemployable. The idea of being controlled by a boss, told when to take a break, when I can go on vacations etc. is ludicrous to me now.
