This week update brings few things about medical practice mentor-mentees relationships----physician mentors can promote growth, semipermanent relationships with their medical students.

Many senior medical practitioners think that, to be a great mentor means sharing along your (entire) knowledge and attainments to your medical students so that they benefit from you and helpful for future generations also. Good mentorship serves as a transporter for forming the future of medicine, not for satisfying your own desires and giving yourself pleasure.

Make clear that you care for your students - It is a very important part in healthcare mentor-mentee relationship. As a mentor if you neglect for your medical students, the mentor-mentee relationship can’t sincerely subsist.

Keep away from contention -- Competition key part of human condition and can take us to carry for great things, still, it can also takes to egotism; Egotism is damaging to the mentor-mentee relationship, also medicine profession in a great manner;understand about it and be attentive of scenarios where ego may be intervening with proper judgment.

Allow misapprehensions - Know that your students will make errors and be sure to allow chance to them. Failures and mistakes are the building blocks of attainment and success in the profession. They should be regarded as “docile moments” permitting you to paying attention to the students how to keep away from wrongdoings in the future. Workout longanimity when dealing with your students in these situations.

Be reliable about your mistakes and failures- As a mentor when you make a mistake, be transparent to know the mistake and put on what you taught to your mentee.

Take heed to your mentee - Put up appropriate time aside to sit down and speak to your trainee. During this movement, give feedback and give hope them to provide you feedback about yourself. Mentorship is a two way process both trainer and trainee should acquire from this sessions.

Give hope or encourage them for self-direction- Give them breathing space, whether it is about treating with a patient, doing a surgery or presenting a case, in order for your trainee to develop they requires to be able to take on more of the work. As a mentor you have to be accepting with that thing and be Okay to let them “perform the duties”; this becomes in concert with allowing for errors.
