Mass Article Control Review: Does it live up to the hype?

Mass Article Control claims to be able to vastly improve the number of links you can get via article marketing by being able to submit hundreds of times as many articles to article directories. It's got one of the best sales pages (landing pages) that I've ever seen and does a good job of convincing you to buy it. How it works is that you receive two pieces of software, the mass article creator and the mass article submitter.

The article creator is basically a synonym-based article spinner that churns out hundreds of ‘unique' versions of an article, the idea being that you then submit a different version at regular intervals via the article submitter. Some people, myself included, may find this a little distasteful, as it is blatantly ‘cheating' the article directories as really you are just submitting the same articles again and again, albeit that the articles read differently.

Still, the results cannot be denied, it's a good way of building a lot of long term, high page rank backlinks to your websites and to put it mildly, it works and it works well. If you are the sort of person that can use the MAC package consistently, submitting one, two even three article versions each day, then it should only be a couple of months before you see your website(s) hit the first page of the search engines - and stay there. This is where your vast levels traffic will come from, not from the fact that you end up with hundreds / thousands of articles on directories.

The mass article creator software is easy to use and comes with an excellent short video tutorial. Like all article spinning software you will find yourself having to do a lot more work than you might have expected when you first start using it but the more you use it, the easier it gets to produce multiple articles as it is continually storing the synonyms (alternative words and phrases) that you are thinking of. Once you are finished with an article, you press one button and hey presto, hundreds of unique versions are created.

The mass article submitter is nothing new either. You enter your article via cut and paste from the wordpad documents created by the article creation software. It would have been nicer if they were auto-loaded but never mind. You press the submit button and off they go. It's probably the fastest submitter I've used and for an extra premium you can ‘upgrade' so that the submitter uses 20 top article directories rather than 10, although two of these never seem to accept articles and the ArticleCat directory virtually always comes back with "error, illegal character detected, please use ASCII text only".

Together the two pieces of software work well and it has become an essential piece of my link building strategy to get my sites - and clients' sites - ranked highly in the search engines.

When I bought into the MAC idea, the sales page gave me the impression that I would be submitting a different article version to each directory, which I thought was a very clever idea indeed as obviously you are going to be building 20 links back to your site with each submission, that will not eventually be reduced to just 1 link as Google penalises you for duplicate content.

This though is not the case. In fact you submit the same article version to all 20 article directories at once then have to wait about a week and submit the next version to all twenty, so that they don't realise what you are up to. Although you will get 20 new links to your website pretty fast, this will eventually be reduced to one link under the Google duplicate content rules. There is of course nothing to stop you submitting as many completely different articles as you wish each day, which is where the MAC system will bring you the fastest results. I thought that it would have been better to simply use the article creator to produce just 20 highly different versions rather than hundreds of not so different versions and then submit one version to each of the top 20 directories, thereby getting around the penalty Google imposes for duplicate content, whilst at the same time building more unique links faster. Then you could just go and ‘obtain' another good article, respin it into twenty more versions and repeat the process. I received an automated email from the MAC team saying that this is what the next upgrade would be so I am not submitting any more articles through MAC until the upgrade comes through, which is due any day (1st August 2009).

When this upgrade happens, it will in my opinion be THE most powerful article marketing tool on earth and something that any serious article marketer simply HAS to own. Until the upgrade, it's not really that much better than other packages available, it' just put together a little better, a little easier to use and has a better sales page! If you don't yet use an article marketing package like this, I would still have to say that Mass Article Control is your best option, even before the promised upgrade.

One other thing: at the moment MAC only submits articles to article directories which is good but not great. Submitting articles to directories DOES work - it will bring you a lot of links over the medium to long term but your articles, statistically, will never get syndicated onto other blogs and websites, they will just sit there in article directory oblivion, albeit providing permanent one way links for you. Now if only they could get a network of blogs involved that would automatically post your articles, well, the package would really be something. I'm sure it's only a matter of time!

Summary : If you use or intend to use article marketing as part of your overall SEO strategy, you have to get Mass Article Control, no question.
