It has been reported that the council in Manchester are planning to extend its award winning wireless broadband internet to all of the residents in the city.

Councillors in the city are now seeking a partner from the private sector who will be interested in becoming part of the joint venture so that they will then be able to make the service available to all parts of the city.

Manchester council are hoping that this venture will be even more successful and will therefore help make Manchester a world-class digital city. As well as this fantastic image, the city would also like to give its residents the benefits that the digital world can offer. A leading researcher has said that it expects the UK to exceed 60 per cent broadband penetration by the year 2012 and this will be partly thanks to wireless technology.
