Google has truly taken over the Web space today. The search giant is one of the most visited websites on the Web today with millions of hits every single day. But Google is no longer limited to just a PC today. You can enjoy the conveniences that Google brings on your very own high-definition TV! DISH Network has brought Google technology to your living room.

Earlier, it was quite impossible to do anything related to computers and search engines using a monitor. That is because a PC monitor typically uses a D-sub connector to attach itself to the PC while most TVs did not have this port. With technology galloping every year, there now seems to be a cross-over of technologies between PCs and TVs. Gone are the days when you were compelled to buy a PC or a laptop if you wanted to do anything online. Today, TVs come with HDMI and D-sub connectors, allowing you to hook up your PC or laptop to the display. Still, you are left with the limitation of having to possess a PC or another mobile device to check Twitter and Facebook.

In association with Logitech and Google, DISH Network has brought about a revolutionary technology with which you can be online and do all those things that you do online on your PC, using your HD-TV! No longer are you limited to a separate PC or a laptop if you want to stay in touch with your friends and loved ones.

The technology is called Google TV. At the heart of it, Google TV is an Android-based operating system tied to Logitech equipment. Because android is a full-fledged operating system in itself, you are free to do anything that you would normally do on the Web on your PC or laptop. The Logitech equipment is a stylish Logitech set-top box which comes with its own keyboard. This keyboard even has a touchpad and functions like a large remote control. Using this remote control, you can single-handedly watch TV and check Facebook at the same time. No extra equipment is necessary. Just hook up your internet or Wi-Fi connection to the Logitech set-top box. The set-top box is called Logitech Revue and sports Ethernet jack and Wi-Fi for easy connectivity.

This Logitech set-top box comes pre-installed with Google TV, the android-based operating system that we talked about. This Android OS is built to work seamlessly with an HDTV. Logitech Revue requires that you have a compatible Dish receiver. You just need to hook up the Logitech Revue Companion Box to a compatible DISH Network receiver and your HDTV with HDMI cables. With DISH Network, no IR blaster is needed.

With Google TV, you are not restricted to just Twitter and YouTube. You get to have the complete Web experience as you are familiar with on your PC. Whether it is shopping on Newegg and Wal-Mart or getting social with Orkut and Facebook, you get to do it all. And you already know the best part: you donít need a PC for it.

DISH Network, the leading satellite TV provider in the United States always thrive to bring new features and add more color to its services. It makes your TV experience truly special.
