Most schools and businesses have certain policies in place to help minimise their impact on the environment. However, if you're interested in going that extra mile to help the environment then watch this space!

How much paper do you personally use per year? And what about your school? If you want to give back what you take out of the environment, why not join The Woodland Trust with their Tree For All scheme. This is a wonderful opportunity which gives children the opportunity to understand nature and the many ways to take care of it. This campaign is aiming to plant 12 million trees and involve 1 million children and has been ongoing since 2004.

Did you know less than 12% of the UK's land is woodland compared with an average of 46% for other countries in Europe? In today's culture, cities and towns are springing up and modernising society but our children are losing touch with nature, with little idea of how to care for it, use its resources and thus replenish them. The trust is determined to reverse this trend before it's too late. In the last 100 years we have lost nearly half of our woodland, affecting wildlife, the atmosphere and our economy. However by planting these trees it is the beginning of trying to reverse the effects of our past. Just by planting a tree we will re-establish our countryside and woodlands and help our children to develop a fresh love of nature and thus the aspiration to take action.

If all these trees are planted the woods would cover an equivalent of 18,000 football pitches! This would be an incredible achievement for children all over Britain so get involved and make positive step for change. For all details please visit
