Hutcherson and Hemsworth Join The Hunger Games. The two stars have been cast in the big screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ best selling futuristic young adult novel ‘The Hunger Games’. Lionsgate has announced that Josh Hutcherson (The Kids are All Right) will play opposite Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss as fellow competitor Peeta Mellark while Liam Hemsworth (The Last Song) will take the role of childhood friend and love interest Gale Hawthorne.
Set in post-apocalyptic America, Hunger Games introduces 16-year-old heroine Katniss Everdeen, who must participate in a gladiator-like fight-to-the-death annual event called the Hunger Games.
In the Hollywood New Movies one of the new movie “The Hunger Games” chronicles a dystopic Capitol which requires its twelve subjugated districts to pay tribute in the form of a teenage boy and girl who are forced to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

When Katniss Everdeen’s little sister is chosen in the lottery, Katniss volunteers to take her place. Although persevering through hardship is commonplace for Katniss, she must start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love in order to win the games and return home.
The point of this article is to celebrate the incredible book The Hunger Games and it’s film production starting soon! Recently news was released about the film last week, naming Gary Ross as the Director, most known for his previous work on Pleasantville (written and directed in 1998), Seabiscuit (written and directed in 2003) and Big (writing in 1998).

The screenplay will be tackled by writer, Billy Ray, whose work it will be to capture the most important details and elements of the story to bring this masterpiece to life.

The most exciting announcement to date was the selection of Jennifer Lawrence to play the leading character role of Katniss. Epic! Lawrence is most recently known for her Oscar nominated role, playing Ree in Winter’s Bone in 2010 and her upcoming role in X-Men: First Class, currently in post production.
I am STOKED to see her take on this role! I’m dying to learn who will make up the rest of the ensemble cast, as there are so many critical roles through this three-book series.
So New Movies Site will have to be our source for now.
