One of the more difficult aspects in the dating world is understanding the question - is he flirting with me?

The difference between being friendly and flirting is not so hard to pick when you think about it.

Why is that?

Well imagine you are at a party observing other people flirting, talking and having a good time. Do you think you can tell who is interested? Sometimes it stands out quite easily, but why?

Well you probably don't give yourself enough credit for being a detective of human body language and understanding when a guy is interested.

Most people can tell when others are flirting, but our brain seems to go out of control when someone may be flirting with us.

Here are just a couple of tips to help you get started on figuring out if he is flirting with you.

He acts differently around you

Does he exhibit different behaviour around you compared to other people? This can be a tell-tale sign he likes you.

He may feel a little more amorous around you, or even a little more shy when he is talking directly with you, so look out for the any tell-tale signs.

Watch how he behaves normally with other girls and use that as a comparison.

Don't judge on a once off meeting but try and get a feel for how he behaves in different situations and with different girls.

He tries to make you laugh

A typical sign that guys are interested is attempting to make you laugh, either by playing the fool, or by being a little silly or cracking jokes.

If there is more than one person there, does he seek your reaction especially? This can show he is interested.

He preens himself

A guy can self consciously groom himself when he is around you, adjusting his shirt or tie, or even running his fingers through his hair.

Also, guys will tend to have a more rigid posture to look more attractive to the female they are attracting.
