With all this info on buying the ideal wood blinds for your house, we need some info on how to keep these blinds in good shape. To enjoy your investment, correct cleaning is needed. {It may seem simple, but the most important enemy to wood blinds is dust. A correct duster is always a must-have but lets get into some more preventive measures. Nobody desires to clean their blinds all day, but if you don't work to keep them clean that is what will happen.

Dust is rarely your mate. To keep your blinds bright and clean, we need to get shot of that dust. First off is the straightforward rag or duster. To wash the front of your wood blinds, angle the slats completely down, and to scrub the back, angle them up. This straightforward maintenance can be done monthly or weekly, as soon as you install your wood blinds. Feather dusters just spread the dust around your floor. Instead get a wool or magnetic duster which pulls the dust instead of scattering it. For a step up the dust bunny ladder, utilise a vacuum. Just be cautious and use the lighter brush extension. Try not to utilise a shop-vac, or it may swig up the rout cords. Then go slat by slat to be sure you do not miss a spot.

If your blinds are in a kitchen or loo where smoke or water residue has built up along with the dust you may need a sturdier approach. Or perhaps you just never cleaned your wood blinds, and an inch of dust has piled up. In this example, use a material and wood cleaning agent. This agent may be water or a custom chemical from the store, just be absolutely certain it's not wax based or it'd damage the clear coat sealant around the slats. Heavy-duty kitchen cleaners can corrode wood and wood finishes, so remember, try a humid rag first before you bust out the heavy artillery. Whatever type of cleaner you use, always wipe it dry after so the liquid does not warp the wood.

The more you wait between cleaning, the worse it is on the life of your wood blinds. If you've been waiting a long time the sole alternative could be to disassemble the blinds for hands-on strip-cleaning. Find an old sheet to lay your blinds on after taking them from the mounting. Use the ground as a back-pressure as you softly but decisively scrub the slats clean. Any fabric material is fine to scrub with, but remember, wax-based cleaners will just trap dust and seal it in!

For a really filthy job, utilise a soft-bristled paintbrush to get into the grain. Fabric softener will keep the paintbrush from scattering dust. Just be certain to wipe off the dust and cleaner as you go.

Blinds can warp and twist in damp areas, but folk in dry climates have their own issues to fret about. If a wood blind gets too dry, it may crack. To keep it in good condition, use an oil soap to scrub and maintain the blind. Make sure you keep your cellular blinds clean with the correct treatments.
Depending on where you live, your shades may react differently to your temperature. After reading this article, I hope you understand how important it is to stay on top of cleaing your cellular blinds.
