The most important fact is that every living being is concerned for its survival and man in his attempt to survive has done numerous harms to the environment. Man has tried to reform nature according to his needs and for his own convenience. The nature has been tolerating this for decades but now the saturation point is reached and the nature is attacking back on us. But IATA (International Air Transport Association) and hazardous materials consultant have taken steps to control this devastating exploitation and poor handling of goods that are dangerous.

IATA helps in educating people in relation to air transport how to handle hazardous materials in a proper way. It also makes sure that correct knowledge is being imparted and implemented. These efforts are being made to curb the devastating effects of the attacks of nature. However, this is something which man should have done before but as it is said that it is never too late to do a good thing. The main responsibility of IATA is to ensure safe transportation of hazardous materials to their proper locations by the means of airways. IATA also ensures that along with training of handling dangerous goods trainees are also made aware of their rules and regulations regarding the transportation of such goods. The duration of training is three days and in these three days individuals are provided with all the required knowledge for handling and transportation of hazardous materials.

Hazardous Materials are those goods which can cause harm to environment, people, other living beings and property. The hazardous materials can be in the form of solid, liquid or gas. These materials includes goods like radioactive, flammable, toxic, explosive, allergenic, biohazardous, pathogenic, oxidizing or corrosive. Different physical conditions like hot materials or liquids, compressed gases or other goods which are harmful in specific conditions are also included in Hazardous Materials. There are many bio products that have been invented in the past or being invented now are really beneficial for business purposes but are harmful for mankind. Therefore, these materials must be handled very carefully.

There are certain rules and regulations that have been laid for the transportation of such materials and the driver of the vehicle must follow these rules to ensure everyone’s safety in and around the vehicle. It is also important for the driver to know about the dangerous material. It is necessary to prepare the shipment of the Hazardous Materials with great care, it is the shipper’s duty to properly package, label and prepare the materials for transportation with correct shipping papers. The driver of the vehicle should take all permits if required to transport dangerous goods. They should be aware of the routes form where they have to pass and also avoid going on those routes which prohibit the transportation of hazardous materials.

IATA is doing a great job by providing required knowledge to people how to handle and carefully transport Hazardous Materials so that the environment and mankind is safe.
