This is may not be the most fun topic to discuss, but if you are suffering from dandruff, then you need to figure out which dandruff treatment is right for you so that you can cure this condition for good. Many people start to notice flakes in their scalp or hair, which is dandruff, and they simply choose to shampoo over and over again to get rid of it.

This is why it is so important to find a good treatment that you can use at home. Using a natural treatment is the best way to go for many reasons. The most obvious is that it is completely safe. You do not have to worry about harmful ingredients and side effects.

Seborrheic Dermatitis is one of the most common causes of dandruff & is characterised by scaly flakes as well as an abundance of grease on the skin. Seborrheic Dermatitis is a type of fungus that normally lives on the human skin and feeds on skin oils.

Its important to keep the scalp moist and not overly dry. With the over the counter chemical shampoo sometimes they may have too many chemicals that can destroy protective oils that can prevent dandruff. Dandruff isn't like threatening at all but its just more embarrassing then anything.

Home remedies for dandruff are plentiful, so to get rid of dandruff can be a lot lighter on your pocket then you believe. The one that I often hear good things about is the use of tea tree oil, this little product seems to do wonders for a lot of conditions and when it comes to dandruff treatment there isn't any contradiction in this statement.

Shampoo is a perfect example. Active ingredients such as zinc pyrithione and salicylic acid are added to the most popular shampoos. While both of these ingredients are excellent for treatment, they simply aren't in contact with the scalp long enough to be of any real effect. Not to mention most of these shampoos give your hair an unhealthy dried out look.

Before we get to dandruff remedies, lets look at the causes. Many people believe dandruff is caused by a dry scalp, but this is not true, in fact people with very oily scalps can develop dandruff. The main culprit for dandruff is thought to be yeast or over oily skin.

Malassezia furfur fungus is found naturally on the skin surface of both healthy people and those with dandruff, it has lately been shown that a scalp specific fungus, Malassezia globosa, is the accountable agent. Hormones may also be concerned, because dandruff usually initiates after puberty and is more commonly seen in males as compared to women.

Neem is a great natural cure for itchy dandruff scalp. Neem originates from India and is wonderful as an effective fungicide. It not only treats a dry itchy dandruff scalp but is also good for anyone that suffers from psoriasis. It relieves redness and an itchy scalp by applying it directly to the scalp.
