Imagine, you just bought the cutest puppy on this planet. You're excited and can't wait to take it home to spend time with it. You bring it home and now you can't wait to play with it and take it out for its first walk with you. After playingwith it for a while, you get hungry and you go for a split second to the kitchen to fix yourself a sandwich. When you come out, you see the cutest puppy sitting on your new carpet wagging his tail and right next to it is a pile of gross puppy poo.
Blood starts rushing to your head and you get mad at the puppy for what it did. You just feel like kicking the creature out of the house and never let it back inside. But before you do all that, you might want consider taking a time-out and learn 5 easy tips on how to train dogs.
First, try to get your dog to go potty at the same place each time, and also make a word associated with it along with some hand action. The word can be anything, for instance once an hour you can ask the dog if it wants to go "go potty". You will notice after some time when you ask him his ears will stand up which is his way of telling "I need to go NOW!"

Secondly, if possible, take your dog for a walk around the same time each day. After taking him to some spot ask him to poo. For several days he wont understand, but then he will realize what you want him to do and obey you.
Thirdly, if you have a new puppy, always keep an eye on it. As they are not potty trained they can poop anywhere anytime they want to. So when ever you feel they are about to do something fishy, you can rush them outside. This would give them a clear idea that they are not allowed to go potty inside the house.
Fourth, dogs are loving animals and all they want is to be praised. So when the dog poops at the right place give him a hug or a pat. Always be positive with your dog and never yell at him or punish if it poops inside the house. Just tell him firmly "NO". Immediately, then take the paper towel which has mess on it and throw it outside and make sure the dog sees it all.
Lastly, if you have to go somewhere without the dog for several hours, don't be scared to lock it in a crate or in a room where he sleeps. Because dogs rarely make those places messy which they consider their home places. So in this way you will be sure your dog will not have a present for you when you get back home.
