How to Market your Network Marketing Business

Almost every home based or MLM business is started the same way. New sign-ups are told the same things their sponsors are told. Begin with the "old school" methods that have been used since the eighties.

Little do they realize those methods more closely resemble door-to-door sales or telemarketing than proper and effective marketing. They also don't know it but none of the top earners of today use those methods.

There are some people who are very successful with those "old school" methods and they get up there and tell everyone they use them but what they do not tell you is they have been in network marketing a long time and they have built up a network already of people who know, like, and trust them.

Those "old school methods" tell you to start out trying to sign people up that you know. But your friend and relatives know the business is new to you and how can they trust that it is going to work?

They may like you but how do they know you are any good with running an MLM business? What are you going to do for leads when you have exhausted your friends and family?

Believe me, you will exhaust them. There will be two ways you exhaust them. They will be exhausted from hearing about your opportunity and your list of personal contacts will run out.

What will you do for prospects then? Ambush people at the mall? On the street corner? Search the Internet? You are no better than a street corner watch salesman if you try the same tactics at the mall or on the street.

Do you really think the top earners in MLM or network marketing use that for sales? If you turn to the Internet you will probably find a couple of options that most people use.

They either buy a list of leads to call off a site that sells them or they go to a social site and start telling every connection they make what a great opportunity they have.

Those lists can be pretty expensive though and when they are used up so is your money. If you were selling a list of leads online would you sell each name only once and would you tell buyers the names had been sold numerous times?

When you go to a social site and start sending links for your company site to all of your connections, do you think those people are going to line up to join your company?

Do you really think the top earners are using these methods for their success? If you haven't tried it yet, just go to Facebook or Myspace and do the same things that the millions there are already doing and see how it works.

The only way to be successful in MLM, network marketing, or any other home based business is the same way traditional businesses do business.

You must first learn how to operate the business. If you decided one day to become a doctor, how many people would let you operate on their brain the next day? No one!

I am not saying network marketing is as hard as brain surgery because it isn't, but if you want to succeed in any business you at least need some training. You wouldn't open a restaurant without knowing how to cook or at least hiring a cook would you?

Well how in the world would anyone be able to build a successful Multi-level-MARKETING business, Network MARKETING business, Direct SALES business or any other online MARKETING business without learning some proper marketing techniques?

Any business is easy when you know how. I once ran a residential framing company and even though I new very little about running a business I knew a lot about framing and so it was really easy.

I still had to learn how to run a business but the main purpose of the business was easy as pie. But it didn't start out that way. It was hard before I knew how. Just like network marketing.

It gets very hard when all of your friends stop coming over and won't answer the phone. Your relatives start avoiding you. You have to deal with massive amounts of rejection and all of your efforts on the social sites get nowhere.

There are a lot of people out there who have tried and failed to build an MLM so you should be able to find someone you can ask if you do not believe that. I like network marketing and I am building my own and it still turns me off when people on the social sites start out their first contact with me by telling me to check out their great new company.

No MLM leader or professional marketer would ever try to promote their business to anyone who did not first show an interest. That is just how it is done and once you learn how to market as a professional you will never use those second rate tactics again.

Anyone CAN do this business if they get some proper marketing training first. It is amazing how the right training will also eliminate all of the rejections that amateurs have to face.

There are no secrets or shortcuts if you want to build a successful network marketing business. All it takes is training and practice on some proper sales and marketing methods and you can be building your business like a professional.
