To make perfect homemade pancakes, you have to know how to make the ideal pancake mixture. Though it is not so hard, many of us simply give up and buy ready to use pancake mixes. But the truth is, that pancakes made from mix don't taste as good as the one made from a scratch.

To learn how to make delicious homemade pancakes every time, you have to know some tricks and tips when making your pancake mixture as well as when using frying pan and serving pancakes. These are not complicates rules. I would rather say, they are very easy and when pancakes are properly made, they are extra light, almost nothing in your mouth.

Homemade pancakes are usually made of few simple ingredients, such as flour, eggs, milk and sugar. of course, everything depends on your taste. First, you need to decide whether you have a "sweet tooth" or you would rather eat something savory. Next step is to get ingredients which you need for the pancakes mixture. And here the fun begins.

There are really many variations of pancakes. From French crepes to potato latkes. Every country has its own basic recipe for the homemade pancakes. If you decide to make thin pancakes, you have to buy milk, flour, eggs and butter. If you prefer American pancakes, I recommend to buy flour, eggs, buttermilk and baking powder.


The other ingredients such as some spices to make pancakes more delicious are optional, but I advise you to use some Vanilla if you have kids. And if you want to taste something really good, try Cinnamon, Nutmeg or Cardamom. Start with something small like 1/4 - 1/2 tsp and work your way up. The amount will vary with your personal taste and the quality of your spices.

The filling and toppings are very important too. If you are making thin crepe style pancakes, you can fill them with some nuts, banana and chocolate or try them out with jam or cream cheese. You can also roll the pancakes with your favorite filling.

If you are preparing the American pancakes, I recommend to put some fruits into the pancake mixture. For example blueberries, strawberries or raspberries. Some chocolate chips with raspberries taste great. If you want to eat some other fruits with your pancakes, slice some banana. Pour the pancake mixture and place slices of banana around, pushing them slightly into the batter. Unlike the blueberries, leave them exposed and not covered with batter.
