With today's economic and housing crises it truly helps to know alternative ways of doing the things that we typically need money for. There is a lot of information both online and elsewhere that offers info, tips and "secrets" on how to save money or get products or services cheaper or at a discount. Some of it is good... and a lot of it has only limited value at best.

I recently stumnbled upon a website that promises to show people how to get, what is for most of us... our largest recurring bill or expense eliminated completely. I was intrigued though skeptical of this claim. I contacted the web sites owner and informed him of my job as a review columnist and asked a few important questions about housing, and how on earth it was possible for "anyone" and "everyone to indeed get housing and mortgages paid without having to pay for them ourselves or to live rent-free regardless or our situation or personal or household income. (I knew about section-8 and other low income housing assistance programs but this guy was claiming so much more than info on those well-known programs..

John Pryor was able to answer all of my questions intelligently and it seemed to make sense but ...I still needed more convincing. He then offered me a free review copy of his info product (I was going to ask for one anyway as I always do.)

As always, I reviewed it with a discerning and skeptical eye... I was not prepared for what I saw. I must say that I was truly impressed and in some cases ...almost shocked. A part of me was even angry at myself that I hadn't been able to figure some of this stuff out once I saw how obvious and "in your face" some of his ideas are.

"How to Live Rent Free" teaches a number of ways that anyone could pick up some of the numerous abandoned properties that are now glutting the real estate market... completely free and with NO mortgage or monthly payjments. It also teaches you how to get properties that are subject to demolition and to have them relocated with no out of pocket expense using a win-win strategy.

Some of my favorite strategies were some of the creative ways that renters can live rent free in viirtually any house, apartment and especially condo's anywhere in the country. I honestly can't argue or criticize most of these methods other than to say that ...I'm not sure each method is quite as easy as John makes them sound but then again.. I only tested and investigated a few of the 49 methods disclosed in the course.

I would have liked to have seen a little bit more detail on some of the more complicated methods but I do appreciate the fact that the author does referral you to local offices and agencies that can assist when necessary.

My biggest problem is with the idea that excited me the most... getting corporate sponsors to pay your mortgagtes or rents with outdoor advertising. I felt that for anyone to actually use this brilliant strategy effectively then more information is needed than what the author provided.

But for $49.95 it is extremely well-written and well organized, easy to follow and understand and most importanly easy enough to actually implement and begin lving rent free without rent, lease or mortgage payments (for most people).

Now to the author's credit I do believe that the intent was to keep the course basic and simple enough to keep the price low and to not overwhelm the reader with to much detail on each of the 49 methods some of which could have been an entire book or course all by themselves.

MY RATING: Using my standard scale from 0 to 10... I have to give this one a solid 8.5 overall in qwuality, thoroughness and practicality. On rather or not the product delivered what it claimed I have to give it a 9.5 (I would have given it a 10 a few of the 49 methods required a little more detail before most people could 'actually implement them and you'll have to do a littel more research if you choose to use them.

MY RECOMMENDATION: Buy it! At $39.95 you can't lose and even if you don't implement any of the strategies right now I really don't know anyone else showing people practical and realistic ways people could even buy a house and never make a single mortgage payment or do this with the home they already own or are renting.

Am I now living rent free? No, not yet but I did implement just one of the strategies that will result in almost a permanent reduction of about 2/3 of my large mortgage bill. My wife and I are now planning to eliminate this expense using just one of these strategies.
